DoD Releases Funding for Coatings Training. SSPC subcontract provides $250,000 for government personnel to take coatings training courses through SSPC.

The DoD is in the process of transitioning product qualification information from Qualified Products Lists (QPL) to the new Qualified Products Database (QPD), which is accessible via ASSIST. All new and revised product qualification information is now being issued via the QPD; no more new or revised QPLs will be issued. For additional information on the QPL-QPD transition, see Defense Standardization Program Policy Memo 07-3.

NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32 (Cleaning and Painting Requirements) now applies to both surface ship and submarine preservation. See NAVSEA's letter re: Guidance for Submarine Preservation and the Use of NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32 for details.
